      Senior Front End Developer Interview

      7 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Nicosia, Nicosia
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Wrike (Nicosia, Nicosia) in Nov 2025

      Interview

I applied for what was advertised as a Senior Frontend Engineer role. During the early communication with HR, I shared my salary expectations, but was later informed that the budget for the position was actually lower and that it was considered more of a mid-senior role. Despite this, I decided to continue the process because I was still interested in the opportunity. The technical interview itself was well-structured and the interviewers were professional. However, the live coding task felt more aligned with a junior-to-mid level position rather than a senior one. When I asked for clarification, the interviewers confirmed that the role was indeed mid-level and explained that the discrepancy stemmed from HR rather than the technical team. At that point, it became clear that the position no longer matched the level or expectations described in the initial posting, so I decided not to proceed further. Overall, the interviewers were courteous and communicative, but the experience was disappointing due to the lack of alignment between the advertised role and the actual position level. Clearer communication about role scope and seniority from the start would help candidates determine fit and save time for everyone involved.
