The overall process consisted of a home assignment (1 week deadline, another week to know if I had passed such stage or not) ad 6 interviews, of which, 3 were technical interviews. The interviews were carried out over the course of a week and I got an offer 1 week later. They knew 6 interviews are a lot and thanked me for going through the whole process.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Woven Planet Holdings (Tokyo) in Feb 2023
Interview
I applied through a recruiter. First I was sent a take-home assignment which was easy. I spent more time documenting the code and writing testing. I was invited for 4 interviews. I had two technical interviews with Japanese interviewers. They weren't friendly and I felt them to be robotic at times. I didn't get any feedback on my answers. It was difficult to continue a conversation with them. One interviewer wasn't looking at the camera throughout the interview which I felt was awkward. He wasn't paying attention to my answers and asked the same question again. I didn't find any of them to be interesting at all. They couldn't properly describe what their teams are doing. Their answers were too vague. Two days before my HR and management interviews I got to know them to be canceled on Google Calendar. I didn't get any email from HR. The whole exercise was a complete waste of time. None of them were professional or experienced in interviewingg people.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Woven Planet Holdings
Interview
It was okay. The recruiter was nice to work with. I didn't make it past the technical phone screen, which involved more practical machine learning rather than theoretical. Practice Pytorch to do well. I was rusty with some functions and needed lots of help.
