      Product Manager Interview

      26 Sept 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wise (New York, NY)

      Interview

Found the job via LinkedIn, then applied on Wise platform. First call with recruiter (30min) then with Product Manager to assess your general feasibility (30min). Then another call with Engineering Lead and Sales lead (1hour) impression that a company is trying to be very transparent about salary and the process, however in fact the impression mixed that there are a lot of issues which is hidden. Do not expect that interviewers are experienced or trained to run the interviews (like in big tech companies for example Meta) majority of them quite young and ambitious which will assess you on things like be agile in business (a lot of pivoting) or how easy you can integrate in the environment of young colleagues with a lot of ambitious to raise the ranks . Based on the interview there are no clear ways of working which makes onboarding very challenging, silos in departments where different teams working on the same products to get recognition, and working a lot from the office even though company has promoting themselves as WFH and remote (for example the office full of people on the Friday) Overall: great company with a lot of challenges of scale up and no clear vision on how to recruit in challenging times. They are saying that recruiting while others lay off, but in fact there are clearly issues which they don't want to make clear Btw...the role which I applied and which supposed to be filled based on recruiter response appeared again on LinkedIn within a few hours

      Project Manager Interview

      5 Jan 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Wise in Dec 2025

      Interview

Unfortunately, my interview experience was quite unprofessional and disappointing. The HR representative was a no-show twice. For the first scheduled interview, they did not join at all and only messaged 15 minutes into the interview to say they could not make it. The interview was then rescheduled, and HR was late again. Candidates invest time preparing and planning their day, and this repeated lack of respect for schedules sets a poor tone from the start. The rescheduled HR interview itself was fairly standard and mostly focused on a general overview of the company. I was then informed that the next interview round would be conducted by two interviewers, but only one person actually showed up. During that interview, the rapport was clearly off. The interviewer came across as arrogant, and it became evident early on that the process was unlikely to move forward. This was especially disappointing given how much the company publicly emphasizes being careful, impartial, and structured in their interview process on their website and blogs. In reality, the interview experience did not reflect those stated values. Having a single interviewer instead of the promised panel, combined with the overall lack of professionalism, made the process feel unfair and poorly managed. Overall, the company failed to “walk the walk,” and the experience left a negative impression. Advice to Candidates Be well prepared with very specific examples that exactly match how the company operates internally. Cross-industry examples, even if they demonstrate standard and transferable skills, may not be well received. The interview questions were simple STAR-style questions focused on “what did you do,” but the dialogue itself lacked depth. . It may help to speak with current employees beforehand and copy the answers. Without aligning very closely to their exact way of working, your chances may be limited. It felt like the role would be easier to fill internally, and the external search may have been more of a formality.

The steps were Hiring manager, Written exercise, Technical, Senior Leadership Hiring manager was managing the process, more so than HR. Each round was as expected, except Senior Leadership round was a bit random and seemed busy/disinterested.
