I applied via their website and was quickly contacted by their in house recruiter, who was enthusiastic and proactive. I had a screener with him that felt much more like an executive interview than I expected for a non-executive role, walking through goals and KPIs of each of my previous roles at all employers in the past decade.
He clearly described the next steps of the process, which included meeting with approximately 5 or 6 more people. A red flag to me was that none of the people he mentioned were women: all men in positions of leadership ranging from the two cofounders to Chief People Officer to heads of portfolio companies in the Lab.
We both left the interview feeling good and looking to schedule a follow up. I did not hear anything back for 2 weeks and then got a polite, but form, rejection email.
We did not discuss compensation ranges in the screener, which is another red flag. He mentioned that conversation would happen on Step 3 of the process: meeting with the Chief People Officer AFTER meeting with the hiring manager (in this case, the founder).
