There is a multi-step interview process. You will have a call/zoom with the shareholder you are most likely to work with, then an interview with the practice group, and if successful, with the firm as a whole. Everyone in the firm at the specific location is given an invitation to attend the interview, and attorneys and shareholders join based on their interest and time.
I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Weinberg, Roger and Rosenfeld (Alameda, CA)
Interview
First round was in person with the Shareholder, then the second round was with all (most?) of the firm. The first round was more informal that I expected. The second round seemed intimidating at first, but the questions were almost all softballs. I believe they wanted me to show them that I had a commitment to either the labor movement or a particular union.
