I submitted an online application for a "local" position, even thought they are all remote despite listing a city and state on the opening. I was asked to do an online test with responses for nutritional questions. I was then set up with a telephone interview. The person who interviewed me was not friendly and seemed distracted by something else going on. Despite seeing a gap in my employment (which was described in detail in my cover letter/stayed home to care for young children the past few years), she seemed very put off by that with asking questions about why I didn't choose to continue working part time to keep my skills up. I am glad that I didn't hear back from them if that lack of recent employment bothered them, yet it was odd they even had me get that far in the interview process to get hung up on so an aspect they could observe from reading my resume. Maybe it was something else, but I was told my online skills test was great.
