Multi-stage interview. Initial screening via teams with hiring manager (and acting deputy), subsequently with department head with further opportunity to establish / understand the full requirements of the role in greater detail.
I experienced significant periods of waiting between each interview stage. Provisionally accepted what appeared to be a great offer then some cracks started to appear. Communication was initially excellent but subsequently fell apart with ongoing delays and excuses including: we changed our system, I have to wait for return from another department, we previously had a recruitment freeze and there's a backlog etc. I waited a month for a contract that never arrived - giving benefit of doubt as these things can happen.
After weeks of the above I declined the offer, it became apparent they didn't know what they wanted. Items such as on-shift rotas couldn't be clarified, initial promise of WFH options after probation were withdrawn at final interview stage.
To summarise looked promising but was very unprofessional and disrespectful of my time, I was in this process for almost 3 months and was asked to wait another 2 before staring. The whole process became jokingly unprofessional which I made clear whilst highlighting above reasons for declining the offer.
