I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company
Interview
I don't get it. I was dressed appropriately, arrived early, provided a hard copy of my resume and cover letter, have experience with children AND retail, plus I volunteer. I don't understand. I get that they can't hire everyone but... I don't get it. Who else has had experience in BOTH of those things that applied?
Well, back to my miserable current job with the joke of a company I currently work at and back to my unsuccessful, futile job search I go. I don't understand why I only attract bad employers when I try to do all the right things.
They get you excited for training, and you spend a few minutes in the theater listening to happy Disney Music. My advice, don't think you'll get the job just because you have experience or even manners. You will be spared the disappointment I had by entering the happy store and meeting the happy interviewer and then having your hope crushed.
At least they contact you and let you know unlike other companies who torture you by saying "well, lots of people apply, we'll be in contact with you..." and never do. At least they have the you know whats to reject you in an email in a timely manner. I'll give them that.
I don't understand.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Basically, you need to be a stand-up comedian to pass the interview process. Experience with children and retail are useless without being a comedian. That is all. If someone else in your group interview is the least bit wittier than you, you're toast.
If you don't have comebacks for guest scenarios that include Disney humor and someone else has a better one liner than you, you're toast.
Don't bother wasting 15 minutes of your time to show up early like everyone advises me to do.
