      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at WP Engine

      Interview

I applied online and sent in a cover letter to boot, was contacted a few days later through e-mail. Set up an appointment with HR and discussed the position, my previous experience, and answering basic questions. Base pay is $18/hr for this role. Immediately afterwards, HR sends an assessment test to take and complete by a certain day. Had 45 minutes to complete the assessment with poorly worded questions. You're tasked with answering a customer question but it does not specify if it needed to be explained in a non-technical sense or not. Also the questions were amazingly easy to answer, not sure why this assessment was needed in the first place. HR reaches out to me a few days later, says I did well on the assessment and proceeds to set up additional phone screenings with the hiring managers. Questions were basic behavioral questions and handling disgruntled customers. During this phone call, I could tell by the dull tone of voice and how the hiring manager was reading off the script had completely checked out. Uninterested in the answers given and had zero technical questions. I really felt like this was unprofessional; basically felt like a waste of time and not an actual phone screening. I was also cut off from being able to give complete answers and kept jumping quickly between questions. I got the vibe that I didn't do well because the person really just wanted to leave the call, so I let him. The next day, after the phone screen, I received an e-mail saying I was no longer being considered for the position. I'm not sure why I was dropped, but I actually consider this a good thing. They have great core values but at the end of the day, they want you to drink from the same kool-aid. Even if you have a strong fundamental background in IT and prior experience to working with customers, it all comes down to if they like you or not. To be fair, companies can totally be nit picky about who they want to hire. It's how they protect their culture.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at WP Engine (Omaha, NE) in Mar 2021

      Interview

I applied for this role after finding it on LinkedIn in mid-February 2021. The process with the recruiter was smooth and I interviewed with two hiring managers and the dept director soon after that. I felt my interview went great and got great feedback from the managers during the interview. It went downhill from there. I was told by the recruiter he would touch base with me early the next week after my interview but was not contacted. I had to send multiple emails before i finally texted him after a month had passed since my interview. It seems they take pleasure in wasting people's time. Very frustrating and unprofessional, jeez!

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at WP Engine (Austin, TX) in Apr 2020

      Interview

Great. Easy and Very thorough. I reached out via Facebook and the recruiter kept an open and honest line of communication. From there, I went from a phone interview to a zoom interview with three managers for a culture fit.
