I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Voter Consumer Research (Houston, TX) in May 2016
Interview
Walk-in. Fill out forms. Talk to the HR representative. He/She will ask a few questions. You will do a typing test and a practice survey. They will then talk about the job and go over the handbook. Once they know you can handle surveys they start the hiring process. Very easy.

Interview
Pretty straightforward. I was told about the position and what was expected of me and some examples of how to respond to people who might not want to complete the survey. I was taken to do a brief role play over the phone to test reading skills. Then I was taken to do a typing test. I was offered the job on the spot.
