I only had a screening interview. The organization, the process, and the quality of feedback were all excellent everything was done at a very high level.
But the reason for rejection was “poor self-presentation.”
That hit hard. I already struggle with the stress of communication, and being rejected as a programmer for not presenting myself well feels like a fiasco a level of abstraction beyond logic.
I honestly feel sorry for companies that value confidence over competence.
And I truly hope they never meet people like me damaged, imperfect self-presenters because we’re the ones who just quietly build things that work.
