First I had a phone interview with someone from HR, then a phone interview with the hiring manager, then an in-person interview with the hiring manager and plant engineer. I’m fairly certain I was used as a “compliance” interview to pad their candidate roster as I kept getting moved to the next steps when I only had exposure to what they were looking for as I am still early career. The hiring manager read some cookie-cutter interview questions off of his HR form during the in-person interview and didn’t seem to have any real interest in learning about my experience, technical knowledge, or ability to succeed at the position. Organizational structure is non-existent. Plant personnel is non-existent. Hiring manager has listed the same job under several different titles. Program engineer apparently means process engineer, manufacturing engineer, quality, project, and maintenance tech to them.
