I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Virtual Financial Group
Interview
I was interviewed by phone at 8pm on November 14th. The interviewer told me I had to be in front of my computer. He then had a manager come on the phone and vouch for his competence as a team leader that I thought was strange. I asked if there would be any upfront costs to join the company. He said only a $100 background check and $60 a month website fee. He then went into a presentation which spoke of all the potential $$$. I asked about the next steps as the job is about purchasing a life insurance policy and then recruiting other insurance agents to join and purchase a policy. He showed me a document that I took a screenshot of that listed the fees as $300/month for a life insurance policy. I objected that selling a $300/month life insurance policy would be a tough sell to agents over the phone. He HUNG UP ON ME. I reviewed the fine print of the fees listed and saw that company expects you to pay an additional $39.95/month for a 800 link lead calling system, 25 cents per lead for 30 day advertising, $20/month for a website, and $60/month for two phone lines. So you are paying the company a minimum of 579.95/month to work without any benefits as a 1099 employee.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Virtual Financial Group (Philadelphia, PA) in Jan 2015
Interview
Everything was done online. I was asked to watch a short 5 minute video. Because I was still interested in finding out more about Virtual Financial, I watched a 20 minute video explaining in further detail what the company was about, the compensation plan, and the opportunities available within the company. Afterwards I spoke with one of the senior VP's to see if I would be a good fit for the company. After a detailed conversation, I joined.
