Applied to ad online then through the State government portal requiring KSCs, contacted 2-3 weeks later with project talent acquisition person who was great and set up a time for a panel interview. Panel interview consisted of 4 people total - two uniformed police, one person from inside the project (who still didn't know much about it) and one person outside of the project but experience with the profession required. Interview went for 30 min with prepared questions read out by each panel member then all scribbling down notes from my responses, there was a key person in charge of the panel, the feeling was very formal and that they all only had a very vague idea of the role. 2 weeks later I was informed I was shortlisted, whole process took 2 months until I was in the role. Warning, if you have not worked for Vic Police before the salary scale in the job ad basically means you will be expected to start at the bottom of the scale, you can ask for more but will need to provide evidence of pay and this can delay the whole recruitment process by another 2 weeks.
