I don't normally write these, but here we go.
I interviewed for a Senior Manager role at Vestwell across three rounds. The interviewers were fine — knowledgeable and engaged. The process itself was not.
A two-week communication gap after my second interview caused me to mentally move on, during which I received another offer. I still wanted to hear Vestwell out, so I asked to move up my scheduled third interview to accommodate my deadline. They agreed and rescheduled quickly. During the interview I was asked if my other offer was "real" but I laughed it off.
After the final interview, I received a vague email referencing my "current offer" that seemed to imply they were extending one. When I asked directly and expressed my interest — a response came back within minutes saying the process would take "weeks and weeks" to pick a candidate for this role (even though interviewers said they wanted to move quickly) and to reach out for future roles, effectively ending my candidacy.
Having another offer and asking for timeline transparency was used against me rather than treated as normal candidate behavior. If you're interviewing here with other opportunities in play, be aware that standard negotiation dynamics may not be well-received.
I applied online. I interviewed at Vestwell (New York, NY)
Interview
The interview process was ultimately very smooth. I Learned a lot about the company and its perks . I feel like this company will allow professional growth and career growth as well.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vestwell (Wilmington, MA) in Nov 2019
Interview
Team-based, professional, collegial. Good group of open, honest people. They were welcoming and encouraging and genuinely interested in me and my background. I felt like the interview process reflected their values.
