The interview process was extremely, well, surreal. I was happy to be included in the interview process, but on the first call, the HR woman doing the screening made no attempt at a basic greeting (like hello, how are you today?). She jumped right into her list of questions without any context or warning. It got better when I was able to speak to the actual hiring manager. Their process included a "homework" assignment that essentially asked candidates to build an entire 90 day plan. Mine obviously didn't hit the mark and that was clear when we reviewed it via Zoom. I think I had the right strategy. But she didn't. All is fair in love and war however - I clearly lost the competition and that's fine. I was happy to make it to the last round. What bothered me was that I never received a thank you from the manager for all of the work I put into to the plan I presented. Neither did I get a personal note from her saying thanks and best of luck. I just got the standard HR brush off email. Based on the fact that this HR person didn't even bother to confirm my name or greet me may be an indication of what their culture is really like. They also didn't have an actual sales team (which they were proud of). Yet they want to scale and grow. Right now, every lead generated runs through the CEO first. Not very scalable (or manageable) in my experience. Still, I wish them luck.
