      Developer Interview

      14 Jun 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, ON
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VersaBank (London, ON) in May 2023

      Interview

I experienced two rounds of interviews before the decision was made. The first round was a screening call with HR. It was your typical behavioural questions, but there was far too many questions asked. I'd count about 15. However, I still made it to second round despite feeling like I performed poorly. The second round was a meeting with two engineering managers. It was conversational, but they were disorganized. To fill the time, one of the interviewers picked a random project from my GitHub (that wasn't listed on my resume, and had nothing to do with the job) and began asking me questions about the code like I wrote it yesterday. They also weren't able to clearly answer my questions about the company, and told me that full-time RTO is in the works. I also have heard the salary for developers here is really low. After a while of waiting, I received a generic rejection email from HR.
