Network Engineering/Systems Performance - RF Design Network Engineering Co-op Interview

      16 Mar 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Bellevue, WA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Verizon (Bellevue, WA)

      Interview

I applied online after a recruiter contacted me around December. The process took total of 4 months with 3 interviews. They first made me do a short video interview in January where I record myself about usual behavioral questions. After a month later, they emailed me to come in for an onsite interview with the managers that I would be working with in WA corporate office (Bellevue). That onsite interview was terrible. I thought I failed and messed up really bad (stumbled words a lot, felt like I was judged harshly, didn't seem friendly). Then in early March, I was told to do another interview (this time by phone) with a HR person where they asked the same questions they asked in 1:1 interview. This interview felt like they gave me another chance or something since I did absolutely terrible on the last one. So I did better and gave better examples to questions that were asked and felt really confident. I guess being prepared to explain your experiences was crucial. They'll interrogate it really thoroughly.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Give an example of when you had an unexpected problem. How did you approach the problem, what steps did you take to solve the problem, what was the resolution. Describe a time when you went above and beyond expectations. Pretty much behavioral questions.
