Request for phone interview from internal recruitment team:
I responded same hour and confirmed a time. They picked one a couple days later.
Had a full session screener call. The recruiter was knowledge about the role. It seemed to be going positively until I disclosed that I thought it was a perfect fit as I had 35 of their 36 qualifications listed in the posted JD. I called out that the one single thing I didn't have was code experience with react.js which was listed on the JD as a 'Bonus/Nice to have' but I was clear that I had other front-end experience and experience with SQL as an alternative. That said when I said I didn't have the react.js experience there was a total tonal change in the recruiter. Basically, he said it could be a deal breaker and he needs to talk with the hiring director about it and get back to me after the weekend. I was a bit shocked by this response, as once again this wasn't listed as a 'requirement or must have' this was a 'bonus nice if you have'. Head back the following Monday with a rejection email.
