The first round of behavioral interviews was great! But I really did feel that the take-home assignment for the second round was unreasonable for the timeline I was given, and with no prior exposure to Veeva's CRM. CRM's are inherently heavy pieces of software and I was just given general documentation on how to use it with no guidance from anyone familiar with it. Having never used a CRM before and being a full-time student with other pressing priorities, I think the lack of guidance & tutorials on using this CRM were what prevented me from succeeding in this interview. I am no stranger to bigger meaty pieces of software, but lacking a significant time investment, or helpful documentations tutorials (both which I think were the case here), I think at least in my case, I was set up for failure here. In the future, I would propose that Veeva needs to make the expectation very clear that I need to learn a CRM in a week to get this job, (I would not have applied if this was the case because again, I feel that it is unrealistic ask for someone who has never used one before). Like this assignment was probably a 10-20 hr job for someone who never used the system. Again unreasonable for an interview in my mind, isn't this why they are supposed to train and develop you in a development program?
