I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vanta in Aug 2024
Interview
I applied at Vanta this summer and they responded within 45 minutes of my application. The recruiter and coordinator were both very personable and got the process moving quickly. I came into the initial tech screen feeling really good, and then the interviewer showed up late and dropped an asinine backtracking problem on me. I managed to solve the problem but they still passed on me.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Solve a variation of Leetcode problem 291, Word Pattern II.
Solve another variation of Leetcode problem 291, Word Pattern II. This variation introduced metapatterns and requires writing a backtracking algorithm along the lines of N-Queens.
I had an initial conversation with the recruiter. He told me the next step was a technical assessment. I asked for an ADA reasonable accommodation and the recruiter said that shouldn't be a problem but he hadn't delt with that before so he would have to check. He then asked me to go ahead with the CoderPad assessment and to let him know if I felt like I needed more time. After the assessment I let the recruiter know that I needed additional time to which he came back and told me that Vanta would not make an exception to their interview process.
