Applied on the county website in February 2025, and interviewed on March 7th 2025. Interview went great, interestingly I was told that they have a high turnover rate and that they were just trying to fill up position with as many people as possible. Anyway I was told I would find out next week on whether or not I got the job. Fast foreword a week and no response so I call and leave person who did the interview a voice mail stating that I was still interested. Fast foreword another week and I never hear back so I call again, this time I was told I would find out this week. I finally got an email saying that they were NOT moving foreword with me. Overall I would not recommend anyone apply for this position or any Van Buren County government jobs, unless you know someone that works there. From my experience they claim to be desperate for workers but in reality they just want a pool of applicants to choose from for future positions or even selling applicant data to third party buyers. Not to mention they ghost you after an interview unless you call them and are persistent about calling them.
