      Business Analyst Interview

      28 Aug 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at VSP Vision

      Interview

Overly difficult and slow interview process. It almost seemed as though they were dragging their feet on purpose. The HR recruiter that I had was offensive. I also question the legality of some of their practices. Once an offer was made, I countered due to the offer being so low. I was told that there would be no negotiation and if I couldn't make a decision on the spot, that they would go in another direction. I am also aware of another instance with another business analyst where they provided an offer letter at a certain agreed to amount. When the individual went to accept, they reneged on their offer and stated that they would have to bring him in at a MUCH lower rate. I'm fairly certain that this actually illegal, but the person didn't want to create waves. Why would anyone want to accept an offer after a "bait and switch."

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The questions mostly revolved around hypotheticals, "How would you handle X" or "What would you do if Y." Mostly had non-technical managers performing panel interviews.
