I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at UrbanLogiq
Interview
1. Pre-screener with a team member.
Just a simple introduction to see if you might be a good fit for the role.
2. Take home assignment
A relatively complex but fair coding assessment. Instructions were clear but general leaving room for you to take it as far as you want.
3. Meet the team
Meet the rest of the team and defend your take home assignment submission. Be prepared to explain what you did and why you did it.
4. Over a month later......Meet the CTO
An intro and chat with the CTO. Don't ask anything too complex though, he has a fragile ego and very clearly does not possess a vision for the team. It also took him over a month to coordinate this meeting. That should tell you all you need to know.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: What was the most recent thing you have learned?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at UrbanLogiq (Vancouver, BC) in Mar 2023
Interview
Pre-Screen Call
- Started off with a nice pre-screen call, it was good.
- The interviewer was Friendly, Listened to you, and asked good questions.
- I was impressed by the questions and the company.
Take Home Exam
- A great take-home project that I thoroughly enjoyed working on.
- I enjoyed and excelled at the task at hand, and I started to like the idea of working there.
- Submitted the exam and got an invite for the interview right away.
Interview with the CTO
- To my surprise, the CTO is lacking organization, management, and most importantly listening skills.
- Took over 2 months to fix the interview appointment.
- Does not reply to emails.
- Often forgets to reply after fixing meetings.
- Finally was able to schedule a meeting at the oddest hour of the day, only for him to CANCEL it before 30 minutes.
- Was not apologetic at all.
- Very Inconsiderate.
I am happy now I did NOT join the team.
The project might be but the CTO is definitely not something I see myself OR anyone working with.
