I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Upward Projects (Phoenix, AZ) in Jan 2026
Interview
Interviewer ran 10 minutes late. Questions were canned and not specific to the current opportunity. The whole interview was odd and the questions seemed like he was reading them off the internet.

My education and it was strange as how do you describe your education.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Upward Projects (Phoenix, AZ)
Interview
They want to get to know you as a person and not just a piece of paper with your name on it. Once you get an offer you will go through training to understand how everything runs smoothly as well as learning about the food and beverages.

Basic Interview Questions, questions to get to know you
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Upward Projects (Denver, CO) in Feb 2021
Interview
First interview was with the recruiter and went very well. A second interview was scheduled with the Area Director the following week. That too went well and I was invited back for a stage the following week. The stage was meant to last at least 2 hours, however, the Area Director left after an hour and a half. We had a very brief recap and I was told that a decision would be made in the next 2 weeks. I decided to continue out my scheduled time to gain more insight on the operation. The following day I sent follow up emails to the Area Director and the unit’s GM. Crickets from the Area Director. I sent another follow up and again had no response. After 4 weeks of not hearing anything I moved on.
Clearly, upper management does not practice what they preach. Poor communication, very little transparency, and people are clearly not their priority. At the very least, touch base with someone and let them know their hiring status. Leaving them in the lurch after 3 interviews is just unprofessional and disrespectful.
