I was invited to an interview at 9 AM and at 8:21 AM (less than an hour before the interview) while I was driving to the interview during perilous rains (there was a hurricane heading towards Charlotte at the time) I received a call that the interview was cancelled because they had filled the position internally. While I do understand that an internal candidate has already proven him/herself and that in itself is not an issue at all, the fact that they waited until less than an hour before the interview right when I was five minutes away is completely inconsiderate to me, my time, the time taken to prepare, and the bad weather conditions I had to drive under. This is completely unprofessional and I should've been notified at least the afternoon before.
