I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at US Foods (New York, NY)
Interview
To be frank, I don't believe they were seriously seeking applicants for the region I had applied. Why? During the interview, I had asked "when were you all looking to fill this position by?" I was told that "they were not in a hurry....it could take up to 6 months." Yes, six months. Then she proceeded to tell me about trying find a replacement for the current TM who was going to retire really soon.
After she had said that, I instantly recalled over a year ago the "first time" I had interviewed with the same indvidual for this same TM position. She basically told me the same exact thing about the guy retiring and not being in a rush to find a candidate. When I heard this again, I was going to end the interview but decided not to because I would have been unprofessional.
I don't know why but this position frequently stays open....I'm guess it's high turnover or not being able to find the right applicant or perhaps they aren't really trying to fill this position...I don't know. Either way, I believe that they are wasting applicants' time----unless they need the interviewing practice.
Again, this just was my experience for the region I had applied. I still think US Foods is a good company to work for despite my experience. However, I do recommend them improving their hiring process at the region I had applied because clearly something is wrong.

Interview
The interview process was simple and straight forward. I interviewed with the District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and VP of Local Sales. We spent a few minutes building rapport and then they followed an interview structure. Awesome guys!

I applied online. I interviewed at US Foods in Nov 2023
Interview
Pre-screen, 2x corporate virtual interviews, 1x 2 hour in person interview. All of the virtual interviews were straight forward and followed a corporate template. The in person interview was much more robust and across the board. I was not followed up with despite being told I’d have an answer that same week.

Question 1
How would you deal with a chef or buyer who was difficult to work with or not pleasant?
Great experience. Pretty quick turn around on getting a response back after the first interview to come in for a second interview. Very professional setting and people were great to go through the process with.
