I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at US Census Bureau (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2010
Interview
The interview was very general and focused mostly on my experience using various computer software and systems. There were also questions regarding what I knew about the Census and why I wanted to work for them. The questions were very bland and the interviewers were not dynamic. This made it necessary for me to drive the narrative of my candidacy by making sure that I worked my qualifications and skills into my responses to their generic questions. Since I had researched specifics about the Census data management system I was able to bring this up and demonstrate mastery of the concepts, which allowed me to impress the interviewers.
I interviewed at US Census Bureau (Jeffersonville, IN) in Oct 2020
Interview
It was a very straightforward lasting about 30 minutes. They began by asking if I had any questions before briefly explaining the role. They then asked some basic questions. I asked a few other questions at the end.
