I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UES (Irvine, CA) in Oct 2023
Interview
Very informal style interview. I was invited to the local office for an interview with the regional VP, principal engineer, and principal geologist. I was asked generic questions of describing myself and how I would best fit the role I am applying for. I was provided an example geotechnical/ geologist real world problem (previous project) and asked how I would approach solving/researching the problem.
After that round of questions, I was asked about my expected salary range and we had a discussion about my graduate research and other interesting topics.

What would you tell a client regarding a creeping slope adjacent to a freeway with a water storage tank on the adjoining side of the hill?
I was interviewed by two people. They asked basic questions about experience and interest in the job position. It was a very pleasant experience. The recruiter kept me informed throughout the entire process.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UES (Dayton, OH) in Sept 2021
Interview
They start with a phone call to verify you have experience in the field, then a 2nd longer phone interview. Then an in-person interview, which includes at a minimum of 4 - one-on-one interviews that are at least half an hour each, with different people in that department and directors for the company that you may be working with.
