      Software QA Engineer Interview

      26 Jul 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UDig

      Interview

I was contacted by a Talent Acquisition person and the process moved very fast. He used high-pressure sales tactics throughout. I made it very clear that while I was eager to make a move, I also wanted a good fit, because I already had a job. Following the client interview, he pressured me to verbally accept an offer when I was on the fence. Instead of offering to set up a brief call with the client to address my questions, he told me that they were expecting to hear from the client in 15 minutes and needed a verbal commitment immediately. The next day, I withdrew when I realized that I never wanted to have to deal with UDig ever again. I don't know if this is representative of their culture or just one person, but it was a big red flag for me and I didn't feel I could work for a company that would countenance such tactics. I felt like they were out for a quick buck and didn't care about a positive outcome for me or the company I'd be consulting for. The whole experience had the vibe of a stereotypical used car lot.

      Question 1

I really don't remember the questions, it was all very standard stuff. Zero technical questions.

Thank you for the feedback. The behavior you describe is not representative of our culture or our standards. We deeply regret this was your experience with us and commit that we are taking the necessary actions to prevent future candidates from having a similar experience. Our goal is always to deliver for our clients and create a great place to work for our consultants and in this case we missed the mark.
