I applied through other source. I interviewed at UCLA
Interview
No formal interview, department assigned me to the class and session to teach. I did get to choose which time slot I wanted to teach, which is the only freedom in the process.
Other Teaching Assistant interview reviews for UCLA
Relatively simple, quick response time from my managing advisor. Only took a few days to hear back following my application and initial interview. The rest of the onboarding process was a mess however.
It was a good interview process. Very straight forward and asked about past academic experience and ability to complete tasks. The TA experience was straightforward and easy to crack but landing one of them is hard
The expectations are familiarity with the subject, good English communication skills, teaching abilities, and regularity. They tested these and verified my credentials on my undergraduate transcripts, and basically I was good to go.
