I had a positive experience with the interviewers themselves. Each conversation was thoughtful, engaging, and gave me a good understanding of the role and the team's work. Everyone I met was professional and generous with their time.
Where the experience fell short was the communication after the final interviews. Throughout the process, I was consistently told that the team was looking to move quickly with the hiring decision. However, after completing my final round of interviews, I did not receive any meaningful update for more than a month. During that time, I was left uncertain about the status of the process despite the expectation that decisions would be made quickly, and I ultimately decided to withdraw my application.
I completely understand that hiring timelines can change and priorities shift. My feedback is simply that candidates appreciate transparency. Even a brief update explaining that the timeline had changed, that the search was still ongoing, or that I was no longer under consideration would have gone a long way toward creating a better candidate experience. Providing timely communication and closure demonstrates respect for the time and effort candidates invest throughout the interview process.
