If you’re curious how far an interview process can go before basic communication breaks down, this was an educational experience.
I completed four interviews, including senior leadership and multiple managers. Along the way, I was repeatedly told how much they enjoyed the conversations and how relevant my industry experience was — always encouraging as the process continued to expand.
After the final interview, communication stopped entirely. No update, no timeline, no indication of what was happening next. Eventually, after I followed up myself, I was informed they had selected other candidates.
The rejection itself wasn’t the issue. The contrast between the highly involved interview process and the complete lack of urgency or clarity at the end was… notable. For a company that emphasizes customer-facing excellence, the candidate experience felt surprisingly disorganized.
If nothing else, this process is a good test of patience and self-restraint.
Advice to Management:
If four interviews are necessary, closing the loop without being prompted would be a strong finishing touch.
