      Interview

Informal interview (info chat) with HM. Was not hiring at the time but was still great to meet actual human. Very personable. I'm still interested in working with this company, It feels like a supportive and good company to work with and grow.

      9 Feb 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Turo (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

HR phone screen, hiring manager phone screen. HR didn’t have their act together — 1) They didn’t call me at the scheduled time, then later by email they claimed to call me but no answer (a lie). 2) Second try we finally connected, but the recruiter was 10 minutes late. Then she cut me off even though I had more questions (another phone call). Very rushed and didn’t feel friendly. 3) Two weeks later a different recruiter emailed asking for another phone screen. Apparently the position got shifted and they don’t share notes. He was on-time, but still somewhat unfriendly. Finally I got to talk to the hiring manager. This was much better (he was on-time and friendly). But still, I think it was a mis-match to put me with him. He doesn’t know anything about data — just design and UX stuff. No homework or portfolio sharing (very weird).

Describe the most recent or most important UX research project you've done
