I had a brief telephone conversation with Trecora Chemical personnel to gauge my interest in the position. The day and time of the interview was confirmed via email.
I met with several plant personnel onsite. None of the other people I was supposed to interview with were available, which seemed strange. We then took a short walking tour of the facility. After a brief wrap up conversation, the interview was over. The entire site visit took just over two hours.
It has been more than six weeks since I interviewed, and I have yet to hear back from Trecora Chemical. I can only assume that I am not getting the job, which is ok because I didn't really want it in the first place for various reasons.
I think it is very unprofessional of Trecora Chemical to not get back to me with a decision (one way or another) in a timely manner. I can understand not replying personally to the hundreds of people who applied for the position online initially. But I took the time to go to the plant and interview in person, so I feel like I was entitled to a personal response.
Safety is suspect at this plant. I saw things going on that never would have been allowed to happen at other plants that I have worked at in the past.
