This review reflects my personal experience during the interview process. I come from a cybersecurity background, so I tend to notice data-privacy issues quickly. During my interview process with Transcend, a few things stood out. In one technical assessment, an API query returned real candidate information. I initially assumed it was test data, but it was clear that the data belonged to real people after a search on LinkedIn.
In a later live assessment, similar information appeared in the product’s dashboard settings, showing emails, team assignments, and what seemed to be candidates’ status in the hiring pipeline. All of this was visible through normal use of the tools provided. The information also made it possible to infer who the company likely selected for the role.
Taken together, these observations raised questions for me about Transcend’s data-handling practices. For a company focused on data privacy, the visibility of this information was unexpected.
Based on what I observed, I think it’s worthwhile for anyone interested in working for or with Transcend to ask about their data practices and how compliance is managed internally.
