First virtual meeting with a contract ID went well. Was called in for a F2F. First person to meet was a SME, second was the CIO.
The SME is a lovely person. We clicked immediately! I would enjoy working with her. I thought I could easily help her using my Instructional Design skills, and build / design courseware for them. Based on the job description - I fit her needs.
Next meeting was with CIO.
CIO made me feel like I wasn't a good choice for what SHE needed. As much as the job description mentions specific software used for Intructional Design, the CIO seemed more inclined to focus on AR/VR,& supply chain feed training, which is not part of the job description.
When I spoke of my experience being in course development, and developing interactive training using the listed software in the job description, the CIO told me they have no intention on using such software and were heading toward AR and VR. I must have missed that part in the job description.
I'm sure she is a very busy lady, and has a lot on her plate, but the CIO seemed more interested in looking at her phone and laptop, and not having the decency of engaging with me, as I spoke about my experience and what I thought I could bring to the role.
Turns out, they changed the job description without ever notifiying the recruiters or the candidates.
