I applied in-person. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Algonquin, IL) in May 2017
Interview
I went in and gave them my application and had a brief interview on the spot (asked why TJ, what my favorite TJ product is). I was told they weren't hiring but about a week or so later I was scheduled for an interview. The interview went fine, there were two people but only the mate asked questions. Both were extremely nice. Lots of standard questions packed into 30 minutes. He said he would call a week later. I didn't receive a call that day, so I called and was told to call back the next Friday, but the next day the person who interviewed me called and said they weren't continuing with my application. Bummer.
If you need a job fast, I wouldn't apply here. It took three weeks just to get response on first interview. Can't imagine how much longer for the second if I had gotten one.

Question 1
How do you handle having multiple tasks and having to stop one thing to do something else?
It's two to three interviews, the final with the Captain (or highest manager) of the store. The interviews are largely to get to know your personality and how well you would do at customer service.
The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.
Very chill, asked things a lot of job interviews don't, more personal down to earth questions. Made me feel very comfortable. Professional but also cool vibes from everyone who interviewed me. Went to one interview with mates and another with the captain.
