I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Toptal in Jan 2020
Interview
The interview process contained 4 steps.
I talked to the internal recruiter who coordinated the entire process and informed me about everything. I had interviews with a lead designer, head of design, one other designer, and a person from the people team. Feedback was very fast and the entire process was around 7 days.

Question 1
I have been asked to say something about myself, and about my decision to join Toptal. Besides those usual questions, I've been asked to describe my design process and to give some suggestions on how would I solve some design challenges.
Here's an outline of the typical Toptal interview process:
1. Initial screening - Submit application on the website and the recruiter will reach out to you for a screening call.
2. In-Depth Skill Review - Portfolio Review
3. Talk-home challenge
4. Final Interview

Question 1
Walk us through the design process on your take-home challenge
They have a few interviews: an introduction interview to get to know you, another one for sending your portfolio deck, another one is longer, and you talk about 2-3 projects on your portfolio and answer questions, and then take home assignment
- quick response time with the initial application - clear communication about take-home assignment requirements. - seemed pretty organized but took a long time to get back with their final decision.
