Application
I applied online. I interviewed at The Zappos Family (Champaign, IL) in Apr 2018
Interview
apply online , then nearly immediate got the online assess, including a virtual interview and a tech challenge, which would have a week to finish. It seems the virtual interview was very important.
Recruiter screen, then interview with hiring manager, then technical screen, then a 5 or 6 our "loop style" interview. The interviews during the loop were mostly the Amazon-style "tell me about a time when..."-type question, with a few very easy coding questions (think, "use SQL to find the total amount spend by each customer") . Ghosted after ~9 hours of interviewing. Thumbs down.

Question 1
Tell me about the thing in your career that you are most proud of.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at The Zappos Family in Mar 2021
Interview
It was a long process. Tech round, timed data challenge on Hackerrank, then culture fit round, after the final virtual onsite. Interviewers were really nice. Getting a feedback took a while so felt like I interviewed with them since forever. The difficulty level of the interviews was simple to medium. Data challenge was easy as well as long as you understand the question. However if you are stuck in error, then 2 hours may not suffice.

Question 1
Case study kind of questions that help them understand your business thought process, coding round in the final virtual. Basic ML questions mixed with NLP and deep learning questions too.
