      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Trade Desk in Apr 2019

      Interview

I applied through internal referral and was invited to an interview after two working days. The first round was a phone interview with the HR who wanted to know more about me as well as ask questions on what I knew about the company and the role. By the next day, I received a positive feedback and had the next round of interview the week after. I interviewed with the hiring manager and then the IT services director back-to-back. I was asked mostly competency type questions (no technical) and true to what most reviewers here say, I believe they wanted to check whether I would be a good fit with the company culture and values. I was pretty happy with the experience and was surprised at how efficient the overall interview process was. Unfortunately, more than a week later, I received no offer in a fairly positive feedback email. Apparently, I was pretty close to nailing the role, and they kept my profile on the system, telling me to apply to any future roles that would be of interest to me. Now at that time, there were no other roles that I was interested in, until a couple of months later, when I saw a junior trader role. I scoured the internet for information on what traders do, and similar to what I felt in preparation to my previous interview, I was very intrigued by the technology and programmatic. Though applying to this job would mean doing a career change, potentially taking a pay cut and setting my career path to an extremely niche industry in my hometown, my interest in the area outweighed the concerns and I put forward my application on the website. I was 99% certain that I fulfilled the requirements that were written on the job description. Less than a week later however, I received an anonymous HR email from TTD saying that they have found other candidates who were better fit for the role and that I could apply to future roles which I would be interested in and would qualify for. I was shaken by the fact that I wasn't even offered an interview. Perhaps for this role they weren't too open to candidates who wanted a career change and preferred a fresh grad, or maybe from the previous interview, they knew me 'well enough' that I won't do well in the role. Nevertheless, I respect their decision. Time to move on...

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Trade Desk (London, England) in Aug 2021

      Interview

the interview process was silly. 2 interviews back to back. I asked to do part 2 of the interview on a different day as 2 hours was too much to be in an interview by 2 different people, they declined my request. So I spent 1 hour with the first interviewer and straightaway was expected to give my best in an interview straight after with the second interviewer who literally asked the same questions. Ridiculous process. I wasted 2 hours of my day and I didn't get any feedback from them. Complete waste of my time. and inconsiderate of people's time. Don't interview if you are short on time.
