I have never experience such an unprofessional post-interview process. I applied to The Knot because I had heard such wonderful things about their office culture and how great of a company they are to work for. So of course, I thought that their interview process would demonstrate this... not the case.
I had a great first phone interview with the recruiter, in which she told me how great of a fit I would be. She then said I would be going In for an interview in Chevy Chase and would interview with two Sales Managers separately. I arrive at the office, get a great office tour by a recruiter, and then get put into an interview room with one person there and another on video. After this, I went and shadowed someone In the Account Executive position and she was great. This part was fine.
Then goes for my follow up. I email the initial recruiter who I had my phone screening with (as I was told she would be the person getting back to me about the position), and then the two Sales Managers. Well, one of the sales managers just blatantly replied to my email by calling me the wrong name, while the other never responded. Thats fine. When I emailed the initial recruiter, she never responded, then I emailed her again a week later, she never responded, and then I emailed her one last time and she has just responded (days later). It has now been 22 days since my in person interview, and they initially told me they would get back to me within 3-5 days, thats why this is so unprofessional.
It seems like this company was very great when It was WeddingWire, but since the merger, It seems as if some things have gone down hill. The girl that I shadowed told me that there were only 4 out of 19 people left from her starting class , and she only started less than a year ago. Hm.
Tip to The Knot: If you're going to tell someone they will hear back within 5 days, then you should probably tell them within that time. Rather than almost a month going by AND not replying to any of their emails. So rude.
