The process began with a brief phone interview with the hiring manager, followed by a more in-depth video interview with the hiring manager and HR. For a third panel interview I was given the option to join in-person vs. on video. That said, when I ultimately asked to conduct the final interview via video, I was given what felt like an inappropriate amount of pressure to show up in person given the role and the current CDC guidelines. I also observed concerning disregard for COVID-related public health guidelines throughout both video interviews (i.e., staff members sitting next to each other, inside, less than six feet apart and without with masks). I declined to move forward as a finalist for the position as these behaviors made me deeply uncomfortable.
