I applied online. I interviewed at The Everygirl (Dallas, TX)
Interview
Met with HR the same week they reached out and answered questions well. HR seemed interested but I wasn’t asked for a second interview as they were filling the role urgently.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Everygirl
Interview
I applied online. The application process was tedious, they requested an unofficial social audit and mini project -- all unpaid -- and it was a sneaky way to take candidates' creative ideas. I was overqualified for the role I applied to but received a rejection email 20 minutes after submitting my application (not enough time to review all the requested documents/links they had me put together) because my salary requirement was at the top of their range and they wanted someone with "more" editing experience. I've been editing content for years, so this was really about the compensation. They didn't want to pay someone at the top of their offered range. If they can't afford that salary, it should not have been listed as an option. A complete waste of time and they positioned themselves to steal candidates' great ideas in one fair swoop. Also a company that seriously lacks diversity. Will never apply to The Everygirl or any affiliated brands again.

Question 1
ex. List 5 Instagram story ideas and 3 Instagram Reel ideas.
I had a very bad candidate experience overall. A positive is that they sent a rejection email at all. However, the negatives outweighed that one positive. First, they always require you to do unpaid work and generate free ideas for them just to apply to a job at the company. Mine took six hours to complete. Once I applied, I heard a response the next business day regarding salary, which made me excited, as it was a good sign that they would schedule an interview soon. I responded to their email but did not get a response back. Thus, I followed up every 1-2 weeks to check on my application status, and they never responded. Ghosted. After weeks and weeks to following up with no response since their initial email expressing interest in me, I received a generic rejection email. They never even gave me an interview. If you are going to reject without an interview, do not email the candidate to ask questions and express interest, getting their hopes up. The company also lacks diversity (just look at their team headshots on their website).
