      Nursing Home Administrator Interview

      16 Jun 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Ensign Group (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2014

      Interview

The process was very disorganized. There is a two step interview process. The first interview is with their recruiter, the second interview is with a number of Nursing Home Administrators that are currently working for the organization. Frankly, my second round of interviews was the most unprofessional interviewing process I have ever been a part of, at this level of my career. In my opinion, it was full of pompous administrators who no process to their interview, and frankly felt like a compete joke by the third interview. I had interviewers answering their cell phones, people interrupting the interview, and responded to questions where they simply wanted you to fire employees (give me a break, poor management is not the fault of the employees--yes firing is necessary at times, but not in the context that this organization wanted you to answer, which may be why they deal with high turnover. I was told by one of their administrators that it is around 1/3 yearly). It very quickly became evident that the companies practices, and culture were not what I wanted in my career, and I knew by the end of the day that I did not want to work for this organization and would not move forward with them when presented an offer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

None. They did not have a set format, all of the questions were very poorly asked/structured.
