      Employee Engagement Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Coca-Cola Company (Kuala Lumpur) in Aug 2023

      Interview

My recent interview experience with the Coca-Cola Company was far from what I had anticipated. It left me with a sense of disappointment and concern about the company's hiring process and culture. To begin with, the interview itself was surprisingly brief, lasting less than 20 minutes. It was only extended slightly because I took the initiative to ask a few questions. This short duration left me questioning whether the interviewer had a comprehensive understanding of my qualifications and potential for the role. What truly shocked me during the interview was the negative view the interviewer shared about Coca-Cola's management and company processes. It was disheartening to hear her express dissatisfaction with the company's internal workings, including a lack of support from top management. This candid negativity during an interview was both unexpected and unprofessional. Furthermore, the most disappointing aspect was being rejected without the interviewer making any substantial effort to assess my strengths and skills. Her comment that I didn't fit into the role seemed premature and based on a cursory judgment. I attempted to convey my potential contributions to the company's culture and my ability to foster a positive work environment, but my input appeared to fall on deaf ears. It felt as though the interviewer was simply going through the motions to meet her minimum KPIs for candidate screenings. In conclusion, this interview experience with Coca-Cola left me with reservations about the company's hiring process and culture. The brevity of the interview, coupled with the negative insights shared by the interviewer, left me with concerns about pursuing a career with the company. It's a reminder of the importance of conducting thorough and thoughtful interviews to ensure that both candidates and employers can make informed decisions.
