Let me describe the entire story here. I was interviewed for Senior Data Scientist position, the interviewer's 1st question was he doesn't know if really analytics and Machine Learning team exists in my company as he was the former employee of same company. 10mins it took me to explain him about yes there are many teams working in advance ML concepts there. Then he asked me couple of questions on forecasting, statistics and ML concepts which I explained him clearly everything and all my answer was correct. Here Interview was scheduled for 30minutes, but these discussion exceeded 40mins. Now he asked me to open some editor to check my python coding ability. There was some issue in Cisco where screen share option was not available. He was so arrogant that he asked me to disconnect and join again, when I joined he left the call and this took another 5-7mins then he joined back. He does not have even idea that coding can be explained either in editor available in cisco meeting window or i can write in pen and paper and can explain the logic. Now he asked me to open some sample dataset if I have handy in my system. How could you expect that candidate will bring some dataset and showcase you and you are going to ask me questions on same. Are you some idiot taking the interview and wasting time. he then said me that another meeting gonna set up and there he is going to check my coding skills, I had faith on me that I can crack his questions but he never gave the chance. Moreover I found that guy was so unstructured, unorganised not even well-formed/well-prepared to take the interview. Later I reached out to HR and got to know that he rejected but the entire story was this which I elaborated. When you are exceeding your scheduled time limit how could you decision a candidate on extra time which i gave you permit to ask. Here two points I want to suggest if you are really well planned to take the interview then attend otherwise cancel and ask someone more knowledgeable than you. Unnecessarily you are playing with one candidate's career with your worse behaviour.I had 3 offers before this interview so it didn't affect me but yes if someone who really need job and he does not have any other options then your ignorance and foolishness impacting the person's career.
