I was contacted by a recruiter for this role, and was interviewed numerous times both by the recruiter and then the company, by phone, then in person
My interviews with the company were great. It felt an easy-going two-way exchange of ideas. After the last interview, I was told I would need to meet with the CEO before a decision could be made. Then I heard nothing. It was only when I reached out to the recruiter that I learned they had chosen another candidate. I don't expect to get an answer for every application, but they didn't even give the courtesy to tell me they had moved on.
The recruiter was kooky. I kept my opinions about her separate from my impressions of the company, but I would not want this person representing my company this way: She was very infantilizing, insisting on interview prep before each meeting. Nothing new was discussed each time, so I didn't see the point. She all but forbade me to discuss salary with them. Sorry, but I'm capable of advocating for my own interests. Last but not least, she was very judgemental, telling me not to show up with piercings or "a big fat nose ring" (I have neither, but want to work someplace where it matters.)
Bullet dodged.
