I applied online. I interviewed at Tesco (York, England) in Jan 2020
Interview
Not very structures and informal The person I met was quiet young and very pleasant. There were quite a few people waiting to go in and answer questions which was a little strange
I applied for a shop assistant role at Tesco online, filling in my details and availability. After a few days, I was invited to an interview, which took place in-store. The interviewer asked me questions about customer service, teamwork, and how I would handle busy situations or difficult customers. I gave examples from my past experiences to show my communication skills and reliability. The interview felt relaxed and conversational rather than formal. I was also asked about my flexibility with shifts. Overall, the process was straightforward, and I heard back within about a week with the outcome.
First call with employer then an in person interview where they asked you a few questions about previous experience, your key professional qualities and what you can bring to the role.

Question 1
What previous experience could help you in this role?
Applied through an online agency - I had to complete a form which then got submitted to the company. This led to arranging a Telephone interview call with me. Relatively straight forward with the usual type of questions.
