I had an interview with two Directors who were more focused on offering a lower salary compared to the market rate than on the candidate's skills, experience, and capabilities. They were actually looking for an accounting professional with experience in SOX standards (U.S. regulations), which is very difficult to find in Europe. However, in order to offer a lower salary, one of them mentioned that in the end, it's not important to know about SOX standards. She said that no one in the Spanish branch knows about these regulations, only she has some knowledge, and that this is enough to train the team.
